This post contains: a bit about my conscious living journey, understanding autopilot and tips to help you embrace conscious living this week, a grounding technique to engage your senses, and a weekly wellness menu for the days you know you need to do something for you and just can't decide what (trust, I get it lol).

Today, I want to delve into a topic that resonates deeply with many of us: the state of living on autopilot. You know the feeling – days blending into each other, routine taking over, and the zest for life somewhat dimmed. But what if I told you there's a way to break free from this cycle? A path to living consciously, filled with awareness, joy, and purpose. That's exactly what we're exploring today.

Understanding Autopilot

Living on autopilot often feels like being stuck in a repetitive loop. It's waking up, going through your daily routines, and heading back to bed without truly experiencing the day. It's when life happens to you, rather than you living your life. We slip into autopilot mode for various reasons – comfort, fear of change, or simply because we haven't learned another way to live. Other reasons we dip into this mode can be survival or to free up mental space for things our minds deem more important.

My Journey from Autopilot to Conscious Living

My autopilot wasn't necessarily a negative force in my life, nor did it define my existence as mundane. In all honesty, I believe many of us operate on autopilot without necessarily being dissatisfied with our lives; sometimes, we just need to take off the rose-colored glasses for a while. However, I came to realize that I often forgot to put those glasses back on.

I noticed that, while I appreciate and require structure in my life, I also yearn for change to keep myself engaged. It wasn't just change for the sake of change; it was the desire for what change could bring - the freshness, spontaneity, excitement, or even the simplicity of new perspectives. Over time, I began to discover small ways to incorporate these elements into my daily routine without requiring much thought or effort.

As time went by, I observed not only changes within myself but also in how others perceived me. They couldn't pinpoint it, but I could; it was the way I was living. I was gradually moving away from autopilot, and my journey toward conscious living had commenced.

Introducing OURS and CLTM

In my journey towards conscious living, I've developed two powerful methods that synergistically enhance personal growth: 'OURS' (Observation, Understanding, Reflection, Shifts) and 'CLTM' (Consciously Living Transformation Method).

'OURS' is a mindful practice that invites us to embrace self-awareness, delve into the origins of our thoughts and actions, reflect on their consequences, and empower ourselves to make meaningful shifts in our lives.

'CLTM,' on the other hand, offers a comprehensive approach that addresses every aspect of our existence. It provides a framework for holistic transformation, fostering a profound shift in how we engage with the world and experience life. Together, these methods complement each other beautifully, guiding us towards a more conscious and fulfilling way of living.

Are You Living on Autopilot?

  1. Do you often find yourself doing tasks mechanically without much thought?

  2. Is it hard to recall what you did a few days ago because most days feel the same?

  3. Do you have a longing for something more or different but can't pinpoint what it is?

  4. Do you struggle to break free from your daily routines, even when they no longer serve you?

  5. Do you often watch life from the sidelines, waiting for something to happen to you?

If you answered 'yes' to most of these questions, it's likely you're experiencing life on autopilot.

Did you know that when we repeat the same routines, our brain conserves energy by switching to a lower gear, akin to autopilot mode? Breaking these patterns can literally 'wake up' your brain, leading to increased creativity and problem-solving skills.

So basically, living beyond autopilot is about making each day count. It's about being present, mindful, and intentional. It's a journey that requires patience, commitment, and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone. But the rewards – a richer, more fulfilling life – are immeasurable.

Below I've included a monthly conscious living menu as well. These menus are helpful reminders of the options we have to invest in ourselves and our wellbeing as well as our efforts to live more consciously each day. Feel free to tailor them to you and your life or allow it to generate ideas for you! I hope you join me in embracing this beautiful journey. Together, I know we can awaken from autopilot and embrace the vibrant colors of conscious living.
