As you redefine baby steps from being these insignificant paces forward to bold, wondrous lurches into the unknown, you realize that these baby steps are to be treated carefully and with great regard. Missing our baby steps or not aligning with them properly is what had me starting and stopping habits that were meant to lead me to my desired / future self. I couldn’t remain consistent because I was not into baby steps - I was into getting it right. Baby steps shifted that, they shifted me. Here’s how to make the most of your baby steps:

  • Understand your vision

    • What / who is beyond the glass ceiling (desired self / future self)

  • What’s their goal

    • What’re they like / into

    • Find connections with that, even if its via interest

  • Find the fun five minute version of it

    • Start small, make it fun.

    • Engage in childlike ways

    • note: 5 mins is amazing, more than 5 mins is also amazing

  • Do the baby step version for a week

    • Notice when you want to add on, do it for longer

    • Connect with the feelings it brings to your mind, body, and soul

  • Cement the win

    • Clap for yourself through the successes and the falls

    • Rewire through the engraving of the current feat (you did it, you tried, you’re here, you’re safe)

  • Check in

    • Check in with yourself mentally, physically, emotionally

    • How has this added / taken away

    • Do you want to continue with this

      • If yes: build upon what you’ve already build

      • If no: cement your wins of effort, start again and recalibrate <3

  • Keep it going

    • Use the process to build trust in yourself, awareness in your emotional being, and excitement for the childlike wonder it’ll allow you to bask in. <3

    • Repeat
