After 20 failed drafts and sifting through ideas, I realized this is where I want to start. I haven’t written in too long and that feeling always leaves me feeling like whatever I come back with has to blow the world out of the park. But I’ve given myself permission to not need that -to not need the validation, nor to perfect anything before putting it out, to get tf out of my bag — and here I am.
I’m [adelfa] Marr — I prefer to be called Marr — simply because I like the ring to it. I’m a wellness coach and practitioner, certified in women’s holistic health, breathwork, meditation, and as of late a RYT 200hr yoga teacher! For the last decade I’ve helped individuals from all over the world become their desired self. As of late I’ve been shifting my work to include more things that are dear to my heart - movement, breathwork, meditation, manifestation, and becoming the architect of our realities. My aim is help humans realize their potential by sharing tools and techniques that’ve changed my life and the life of many others.
Throughout my years in doing this work, I was always focused on keeping my work a bit more private. I assumed it was ‘honoring the work’ and my clients, however I realized that it also had to do with being seen. I had a fear of being seen as another talking head on social media, another advice giver, another coach, another another another. I mean, how could I maintain integrity and do things that didn’t feel like it honored my true self — a person who enjoyed laying low and keeping things private in a world that was ready to bear their soul to a camera and later an audience. Until I realized that wasn’t it .. at all.
I thought (and journaled and shadow-worked and therapized and all of the things) long and hard about what was more important to me: laying low and sharing my expertise with the world? One required me to believe in myself and my abilities harder than I ever had and while it took me a second to leap for it .. I finally did.
I had a roundtable discussion with all my selves as employees (the worried one, the overachiever, the one with too many ideas, etc) and we discussed the realities of our fears, the heart-led mission, and what we needed to do. To put it plain and simple, we landed on:
Getting the fuck out of our bag and SHOWING up.
So that’s my current journey and I’m bringing you along with me. This fresh start is helping me not only believe deeper in myself, but to share my work shamelessly with you all, to create the reality I want, and to show you all how to do the same.
Thus far I’ve:
Created collabs with people I’ve admired on social media and now I’ll be teaching at studios I’ve dreamed of working at.
Found soul-family by sharing my needs and being receptive to those who were down to meet me where I was at.
Created time to meet with creatives who believe in me and my vision and are eager to support, collab, and create with me.
Found deeper love for myself by seeing myself in action!
Tapped into what I’ve always been meant to do and felt so good doing it.
And everyday I’m smiling because this is just the beginning. I’ll be sending out weekly notes for you to stay connected, implement tools into your journey, and become the architect and keep designing the reality you desire. I created a new website and a new IG to encapsulate this work. Follow it here<3
In the meantime, below are some ways we can connect with each other:
The Architect’s Channel on IG: Check out my IG to tap into the channel. I’m hosting a journaling challenge for the Architects and a daily prompt will be shared to help you further create your reality.
February 27th - I’ll be hosting a book club with my husband, Manny Montana, and we’ll be discussing Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. If you’re in NYC, please come through.
March 7th - I’ll be hosting a Journal Club [VIRTUAL] with a theme of: The Evolution of Me. Ideal for all journalers, especially those looking to continue their self-evolution and want to activate it via writing / journaling!
March 23rd - I’ll be collaborating with Our Studio Wellness to host a hybrid Spring Equinox session that’ll include yoga, meditation, and journaling. It’s perfect for the New Year vibes that Spring Equinox brings us. It’s a virtual event so you can join us from anywhere!
More events are being finalized now so I’ll keep you posted, but for now, thank you for taking the time to read and connect with me. Big hugs!
