🍵 count this as your daily read:
I'm sharing all things about: my weekend, conscious social media usage, replacing social media, weekly menu for conscious living:
📴 the adult digital detox
This weekend, I embarked on a mini digital detox. Instead of the usual scroll through social media, I gave myself permission to just be without it. I didn't go for a dramatic digital purge; I just chose to engage less. And here's the dope part - it felt like a breath of fresh air. It's amazing how a small step back can bring such a sense of freedom. When we're given a sense of freedom with what we can and what we should be doing, it really allows our true selves to shine. Sure you can hop on instagram again or you can spend that same time doing something new or nourishing.
🧠 marr's neuroscience corner:
I started to wonder why this feels so refreshing, so of course I had to find out why – Our brains, caught up in the digital whirl, often miss out on the quiet, unscripted moments. A break from the screens is like a reset button, giving our mind space to wander, innovate, and relax. It's about creating mental breathing room, and it's wonderfully rejuvenating. Here I was, thinking my doom scroll was the breathing room.
🌟 rediscovery + simple pleasures
This wasn't just about being offline; it was about rediscovering what brings me joy. I rekindled my love for learning Italian in a relaxed, integrated way. It's fascinating how infusing learning into daily chores can transform them into something delightful and enriching.
✨ lil bits of my weekend:
Painting with my husband turned into deep connection and big laughter.
Taking a day to just be + napped at the park, under the palm trees of course
Losing myself in 'Dune' because who doesn't lol
Had the deepest, most rebirth feeling conversations w my close friends
🌈 the mindful moments menu for your week ahead:
Monday: Start with a mini digital break. Maybe skip the morning scroll and enjoy a quiet breakfast.
Tuesday: Rediscover or start a hobby, even if it's just for 30 minutes.
Wednesday: Take a moment to connect with nature. A walk or simply sitting outside can be refreshing.
Thursday: Engage in something creative, no matter how small.
Friday: Savor your meals mindfully, away from digital distractions.
Weekend: Dedicate time to loved ones or immerse yourself in a personal project.
to close us out:
This weekend was a gentle reminder of how stepping back can open up a world of simple joys and deeper connections. I hope my story inspires you to find your own moments of tranquility and happiness.
